Ben has been going to a work out boot camp almost every week day morning for the past month. A couple of my friends ride their bikes everywhere. And then there are the Olympics. If a tight 16-yr-old ass can't inspire you to get into shape, nothing can.
I hit the gym today for the first time since the Great Ohio Food Devouring of 2008. Well, really since the Great Laziness: Summer 2008. It's a humbling experience to not be able to hit a yoga position not because I'm not flexible enough, but because my hip fat is in the way. My legs were shaking in poses I was able to hit last February with ease. My Chaturanga Dandasana is down the pooper. After yoga, I did my 45 minute spin routine and realized how my cardio has disappeared. It's very apparent b/c I'm not recovering nearly as quickly as I'd like. Or as I used to.
I leave for Austin a week from tomorrow, and will not have any sort of schedule while I'm there. And I realize that one week is not going to tighten what I've taken 6 months to squish. But it'll be good to have a routine for this week. That'll make it easier to get back into it when I return from Austin. This is my last trip planned for the year (except one back to PHX in Oct, but I don't count that since it's so close and only a weekend), so I have several months of improv, claims processing, and gym hitting ahead of me. I have all these cute skirts I can't cram my bum into. We'll see. I'm usually all talk. But Ben said he'd be my gym buddy when his boot camp is over. And Faith will come on the days she's not working. This will help.

Wonderful wedding. Great to spend time with a family that is not mine, but treats me like a member. Fantastic to see Tosha and eat at Uno's!!! Bravo for lunch today. YUM! No India Palace--closed for renovations. Boo. Marion's pizza tonight. Hooray! Esther Price purchased for one roommate and one connoisseur of chocolate. Dad is yelling at the Cubs right now. Must take nap. Too much in belly.

Craig does not drink red wine. Natasha has kidney stones and is abstaining.
Night of firsts: An entire bottle of cab sav by myself, save three large sips.
Scientific note: wine does not effect me in the same way rum does.

I thought I'd have to deal with dial up for the weekend. The nice thing about OH is how trusting people are. Two systems to remotely link to. No passwords. I have wireless!

Sitting in Sky Harbor like the good ol' days. Waiting for my flight at 2. God bless free internet.
I want to wash my hands.
I want to eat healthy food. All I've had is airport pizza today and I feel sick.
I want to sleep.

So much to do
I leave tomorrow morning. Early. Today I have to get in 8 hours of work, laundry so I can pack, a callback, a show tonight at 8pm (family dinner before if there's time), and iO's re-opening party. Then tomorrow I need to get in a couple of hours of work since I'll be gone for a week. Yep, before I get on the plane. I think I will not sleep tonight and instead become a spokesperson for 5 hour energy drink!

From Josh, who worked on the set this weekend. Also my boogie boarding buddy on the Malibu trip a few years ago:
Man, I really had a lot of fun on that set. "Hey, Ashley, have some more to drink!" "Hey, Ashley, hang on this guy that is so hot you two would never have a conversation in real life!" OK, Behn. I guess I can do that for you. I was also Dustin's official Piggy Back Ride Giver. I told him if he's ever hired on a film set where he's making the big bucks that he should hire me to give him piggy back rides to and from set. How pretentiously awesome is that!?!
By the way, we were looking at the footage of You and Jonathan right after his 'fireworks in 40 min speech' and there was a take where right after, you took this huge sip from your straw like getting drunk was a top priority mission from Captain Choove.
Hilarious!

Had a super fun time on set today! Behn called me to be basically background with a line ("Weird"). We were encouraged to drink (I got friendly with a bottle of Jack) and eat delicious hamburgers. This is the life, my friends. This is the life.
Was all rearin' to go out tonight, but realized I need to be responsible (boo!) and go to bed at a decent time to get up and work 5 hours before class and rehearsal tomorrow. Sitting with Faith on her bed having a fun girl's night. Hooray for life!

Life Goals
This is something I've been thinking about for a while. I read The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch and absolutely loved it. That was an incredible man. He literally achieved everything he ever wanted to do. He was an extraordinary man who lived a life full of love and laughter. Since his passing, I've been thinking quite a bit about the big and little goals I personally want to achieve. I've decided to write them down. This list can be added to in the future. As I achieve the goals, I will cross them off and put the date. Here is what I have so far.
Travel to Hawaii
Travel some place which requires a stamp in my passport - preferably London or Ireland
Try stand-up
Purchase a house
Get married
Volunteer
Work with children - especially improv-related
Release an 80s-related power ballad album
Be in an improv troupe which travels
Win an award
Make $100,000.00 in one year
Take a picture I like well enough to frame
Learn ASL
Become fluent in Spanish
Take a personal interest class at a community college
Skydive

We just got internet yesterday, which is why I haven't posted about the amazing fun time I've been having moving. Sarcasm does not read as well in blog form.
Anyway, my shower here is smaller than the one in my old place. "How can that be?" one who has seen my old shower may ask. Well, I have no explanation. Shaving in my old shower was hard enough. This one is nigh impossible. I hit my elbow hard enough to bruise. I also hit my head. I was able to wedge myself diagonally in there to get to my left leg, but I think future shavings will have to take place in the big shower Faith and Drew share.
More about last week later. It has been fun.
